The Odisha Agriculture Department has rolled out scannable QR code-based digital profiles for farmers in districts like Bargarh and Sambalpur. Each profile links to land records, soil health data, crop history, and subsidy eligibility. Field agents scan the codes during farm visits to instantly update services rendered—like seed distribution or pesticide spraying. Farmers use the profiles at kiosks to access training schedules, scheme updates, and price alerts. This system reduces paperwork and improves transparency in state support delivery. Over 1.2 lakh farmers have been registered in the first phase, and a mobile app version is in the works.
